Rebecca & I have always taken great pride in what we do and over the years have had the privilege to work alongside some of the wedding industries most talented and recognised professionals. We have attended what we (and many others too!) consider some of the finest and most exquisite wedding venues across Kent, East Sussex and into Surrey. Sadly we cannot list them all, and considering each is unique in their own special way offering a variation in style, choice and service these are just a few of our most recommended wedding suppliers who are here to be a part of one of the most important days you will ever have.

For years we have attended the highly celebrated EAST QUAY  in Whitstable and each and every time we have the privilege to return we feel the same rustic charm and appreciation for such a lovely venue. Overlooking the sea with staff that really are so dedicated, this has to be a serious consideration for the perfect seascape wedding; we absolutely love it here, always will and am sure that you will too.

For a much smaller and more intimate ceremony then THE LOST VILLAGE OF DODE is certainly a venue to be viewed; a deconsecrated Norman Church, flame sconces and a stone circle provide the perfect setting for an alternative or themed wedding offering total peace and tranquillity.

Stepping slightly over the county borders and into Surrey then COLTSFORD MILL , a delightful and weatherboard water mill surrounded by lakes and open spaces provides an idyllic setting and is only a short distance from the M25.

Into the Weald of Kent and on the edge the historic village of Biddenden THE HOUSE MEADOW is host to a traditional Kentish farm with the rustic ‘Horseshoes’ barn and provides to some degree a blank canvas for you to create your perfect day.

Rustic wedding venues in Kent are hugely popular either in the countryside or by the sea; and the areas around Canterbury are host to three fantastic venues, each very different but all have their own unique characteristics not replicated by any of the other.

THE NIGHT YARD provides an enclosed setting featuring the original stalls and farming features with an intriguing and fascinating history (You have heard of Chitty Bang-Bang?)

Whilst PRESTON COURT with it’s traditional ‘Kentish Barn’, Dutch organ walls and fairground ‘Gallopers’, all within a rustic and vintage farm setting is idyllic.

Nearby MARLEYBROOK HOUSE is another gorgeous wedding venue oozing so much ‘yester-year’ charm. The walled garden, vintage fairground and thatched cottage are just a few of the features which make this venue as unique and as popular as it is.  There is a unique array of individuality in the areas surrounding Folkestone too.

For example, THE OLD KENT BARN has become a very popular venue for wedding couples, it’s open space, lighted Gazebo walk, manicured gardens & hedges make it understandably very much desired.

If a ‘Regal’ venue is more to your liking, then consideration to LYMPNE CASTLE is a must. With so much history and ambience of grandeur, it’s terraced lawns, panelled walls and far-reaching views make this venue in its own right, totally unique. Wherever you decide to ‘tie the knot’, consideration as to how you are going to set the scene needs to be given.

Charlotte of BLACK SHEEP EVENTS will assist you and help to coordinate the day to ensure your wedding day preparations are as stress-free as they possibly can be. But what about the children? This can be a delicate topic and often discussed and debated but if this is a consideration for you then we recommend a conversation with Carrol at CAROUSEL CRECHE, a modern ‘Mary Poppins’ solution.

But of course, choosing the venue is just the start. Some venues will provide their own catering, whilst others will allow you to make your own arrangements but depending on your budget and culinary needs there are a number of caterers who consistently provide quality service each and every time. We have no hesitation in recommending either CHIVE THE CATERERS  or  HOME GUR’ROWN ,  both of who produce an array of culinary delights which are bespoke to your requirements.

Choosing a photographer is a very personal experience and each will have their own unique style and their own personalities, a combination of which whereby you have to be comfortable with both (you will be spending a long time with them on your wedding day!). When Rebecca & I renewed our wedding vows after 25 years, choosing the photographer was such a difficult choice simply because we know that there are a number of experts who are all so good; but also so different too.

After much deliberation we settled on LIVVY HUKINS PHOTOGRAPHY but as a couple was also torn between both EMMA MIGDEN PHOTOGRAPHY and KERRY-ANN DUFFY PHOTOGRAPHY both of whom we have worked with on many occasions previously and who is always a pleasure to work with. Some couples will feel more at ease to have a male photographer present and again, presenting their own unique styles GRAHAM BAKER PHOTOGRAPHY for example has a style which you will just adore or JAMES GRIST PHOTOGRAPHY who continues to deliver time and time again some of the most memorable images you could ask for.

In respect of finding a DJ who is reliable, punctual and has the ability to interact and get your ‘party started’ this is always a gamble unless of course, you have the recommendation of a good and longstanding professional. Ian from CELEBRATION SOUNDS DISCO  or Andy from DYNAMIX ENTERTAINMENTS both have years of industry experience an un-faltered reputation for deliverance but for some more ‘mystical’ entertainment then CHRIS HARDING MAGICIAN will totally amaze you and your guests with some mind-blowing illusions delivered in a way which is only unique to Chris himself!! For live entertainment then again; such a difficult choice but this is down to personal taste. For example; the talented singer and songwriter JAYNE SNOW is an absolute legend, the only musician we have seen who with total respect, turned the alter area of a historic church into a music stage; absolutely brilliant! For a male vocalist and producer, feast your ears here on JORDAN HEMMINGWAY MUSIC  who we had the pleasure of working alongside and a number of other highly acclaimed professionals for an uplifting and very special promotional video & photoshoot. This was filmed by one of the UK’s top wedding videographers, RUSSELL KENT NICHOLLS who has put an absolutely superb production together whereby watching it just the once is simply just not enough!! The dedication of all the professionals that day is captivated on both this moving video as well as the utterly brilliant photography of PIERRA G PHOTOGRAPHY who was instrumental in the coordination of such an exceptional feat. Of course, this would not have been possible without the efforts and hard work of all the contributors on that most memorable day.

And getting yourselves and the wedding party to the church is again very much a personal choice but with so many options to choose from, the knowledge that the vehicles are actually loved and appreciated by their owners and are ‘not just a wedding car’ means they are prized, well cared for and meticulously maintained. Lawrence from RETRO RIDES 4 BRIDES spent many painstaking months on his restoration of ‘Hector’. A Vintage VW split screen boasting a full-length opening roof for that perfect arrival; retaining much it’s original character ‘Hector’ is the perfect choice for up to six passengers making him a unique and cost-effective, iconic wedding vehicle. If the love of your life is a ‘Petrolhead’ then the hand-built and modified creations of Shaun from QUADRIGA WEDDING CARS will introduce you to some of the most ultimate American muscle including ‘Eleanor’. Almost a modern-day ‘Count Louis Zborowski’, Shaun has engineered some of the most jaw-dropping creations you will ever have the pleasure to be chauffeured in.

Whatever, or whoever you choose to create your perfect day really is down to you as a couple and your own individual tastes and aspirations. Rebecca & I wish you all the happiness as you continue with your wedding planning and do hope the above may have been at least some use to you in your planning.

Take care and we wish you all the best for your very special day.

Cliff & Rebecca
